Questions Ontario Homeowners Ask Us Before They Call

The Work We Take On

Most of the calls we get come from houses built between 1957 and 2007, with a big cluster from the 1960s and 70s across the thirty or so named areas we work in. That means a lot of torsion springs that have outlived their cycle count, rollers that have gone dry, and openers original to a remodel nobody remembers doing. We work on broken springs, cables off the drum, bent track, worn rollers, opener swaps, and panel damage from a backed-into door. We handle both torsion and extension spring systems since the service area has a real mix of both depending on when a street was built.

We also get calls on doors that are fine mechanically but loud, slow, or binding on one side - usually a track out of alignment or hardware that's never been lubed. That's a shorter job than people expect. On the heat side, Ontario sits in a moderate heat climate band, which is easier on rubber seals and nylon rollers than a harsher desert climate would be, but it still shortens the life of cheap plastic parts over enough summers. If your door is original to a house from that 1976 median build era, the spring and cable hardware is very likely original too, and that's usually where the noise is coming from.

We don't try to be everything to everyone. If it's not a garage door or the opener that runs it, it's not something we take on.

Getting Hold Of Us

Call (909) 247-3938. That's the fastest way to get a real answer about your specific door - make, age, torsion or extension spring, what it's doing or not doing. We're based at 2930 Inland Empire Blvd, Ontario, CA 91764, which puts us within a short run of Ontario Ranch about 2 miles southeast and Eastvale around 5 miles out, so if you're calling from either of those areas the drive to you isn't far.

We also cover a wider radius out past Montclair, Jurupa Valley, and Norco in the 6-8 mile range, and further out toward Chino Hills, Claremont, and San Antonio Heights around 9-10 miles. If you're farther than that - up near La Verne, Diamond Bar, or Rialto - still call, just know the drive time factors into scheduling.

When you call, have the door's approximate age and whether it's a single or double door handy. That alone tells us a lot about spring size and whether we're likely dealing with torsion or extension hardware before a truck even leaves.

What We Will Not Do

We won't tell you a door needs full replacement when a spring swap or a track adjustment will do the job just as well. We also won't quote a repair over the phone sight unseen if the problem sounds like it could be a bent section, a cracked panel, or opener logic board failure - those need eyes on the actual door before we can say what's really wrong.

We don't do new construction installs as a standalone service, and we don't work on gates, fences, or anything that isn't a garage door and its opener. If a part needs to be special-ordered - some older opener boards and less common panel styles fall into this category - we'll tell you that up front rather than promise a same-day fix we can't deliver. That's the honest limitation here: not every part sits on the truck, especially for doors that are older than the median 1976 build year in this area.

We also won't push a full door replacement on a house where the existing door and hardware are still sound just because replacement pays more. If the fix is a spring and a service call, that's what we'll tell you.

Frequently asked questions

How do I know if it's the spring or the opener?

If the door won't budge even with the opener disconnected and pulled by hand, it's almost certainly the spring, not the opener. If the opener motor runs but the door doesn't move, or moves then reverses, that points to the opener or track. Tell us which one it is when you call and we can usually narrow it down further before we arrive.

Do you work on both torsion and extension spring doors?

Yes. Given the build years across this area, roughly 1957 to 2007, we see plenty of both systems depending on when the house or garage was built. Tell us the approximate age of your house and whether the springs sit on a bar above the door or run along the horizontal tracks, and we can tell you which type you likely have before we show up.

How far out do you go for service calls?

We're based at 2930 Inland Empire Blvd in Ontario. We regularly cover close-in areas like Ontario Ranch, Eastvale, Montclair, and Jurupa Valley, and we go out as far as Chino Hills, Claremont, and La Verne. Call (909) 247-3938 and tell us your area - if it's farther out, we'll be upfront about how that affects scheduling.

Will you replace my door if a repair would work just as well?

No. If a spring, cable, or roller repair solves the problem, that's what we'll do and what we'll quote. We only recommend full replacement when the door or hardware is actually at the end of its service life, not because replacement is a bigger job.

Can you get parts for an older opener or door?

Sometimes, and sometimes not same-day. Houses in this area go back to 1957, and some older opener boards and discontinued panel styles need to be special-ordered. We'll tell you on the call or at the door if that's the situation rather than promise a fix we can't deliver that day.
